Body Psychotherapy
What is Body Psychotherpy?
Body psychotherapy is a therapeutic approach that recognises the deep, inseparable connection between the mind and the body - it embraces the whole Human. Body Psychotherapy understands that psychological issues aren’t just “in your head” - they’re also stored and expressed through your body.
Low mood, anxiety, muscle tension, poor posture, shallow or restricted breathing, chronic pain, illness, or a general sense of being disconnected from your physical self are all signs that your energy isn’t flowing as well as it could (and you’re not living with as much vitality and ease as you could). While many mainstream therapies focus on changing unhelpful thoughts or behaviours, body psychotherapy works with the ways your body holds emotional and energetic patterns - especially those formed early in life or in response to stress, trauma, or disconnection.
Instead of just talking about your experiences, body therapy explores how you move, where you hold tension, and what’s happening in your breath and nervous system. It helps bring awareness to these patterns, so you can shift them - not just mentally, but physically and emotionally too.
The goal is to support you to come home to your body, feel more grounded and present, and reclaim your full VITALITY.
What is Human Embraced’s Approach?
Human Embraced practices a particular type of Body Psychotherapy called Core Energetics. Core Energetics is a body-based therapeutic approach founded by John Pierrakos. It draws from psychology, bioenergetics, Freudian and Jungian theory, and integrates a strong spiritual framework.
Core Energetics looks at the unconscious reasons you keep repeating the same patterns - emotionally, physically, and energetically - and works with the body to shift them. We use movement, sound, breath, and structured exercises to access what’s underneath your everyday coping mechanisms.
This approach combines deep emotional work with the latest in trauma resolution, nervous system awareness, and spiritual connection. It’s challenging, powerful, and transformative - and best suited to people who are committed to real change.
If you’re ready to stop circling around your stuff and actually move through it, this is the work for you.
